THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:
All puppies are adorable.
You live with an adult dog for many years. So, don't love just the puppy, love the dog they'll grow up to be.
Find out if that gorgeous pup-breed will shed, drool, dig, chew or bark incessantly before you succumb to the charms of a
breed.
Dedicated breeders plan
a litter only when they believe the mating will benefit the breed. They don't always have pups available when you want
one. So you may have to wait a few months for that perfect puppy. Use the time to prepare for your little one
and learn all you can about raising that special dog. I promise you, it'll be worth the wait.
Around 16-weeks, your pup will start
losing their baby teeth. Their need to chew increases during this time. Provide them with lots of DURABLE chew
toys and some cold soothing toys. A cotton knotted rope, soaked with water and frozen is ideal. They love it!
POTTY TRAINING:
Devote as much time as you can to house-training
your pup. Before you open your puppy's crate door in the morning, be dressed and ready to go. Open his door and
lead him outside as fast as you can. If he is too small, carry him down the stairs but let him walk the rest of the
way. You want him to learn how to get to the toileting area. Say the magic words, "Go Potty," and make sure all family members
use the same command. Walk back and forth with your puppy in the area and repeat the phrase. When he eliminates,
reward him with verbal praise, a hug or even a food treat. If you're enthusiastic, your puppy will quickly learn to
go on command. If you fail to give him adequate thanks for his accomplishment and simply snatch him up and head back
to the house, expect to spend a very long time training him. But... most important is consistancy, consistancy, consistancy
and you'll get it accomplished. Also, let him explore his new world, (under your guidance) so he developes great
confidence in him/herself.

THIS IS SOME GOOD ADVICE!
If a dog was the teacher you would learn stuff like:
1) When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
2)
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
3) Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind
in your face to be pure ecstasy.
4) When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.
5) Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
6) Take naps.
7)
Stretch before rising.
8) Run, romp, and play daily.
9) Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
10) Avoid biting
when a simple growl will do.
11) On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
12) On hot days, drink
lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
13) When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
14) No matter how often you're scolded,
don't buy into the guilt thing and pout..!
Run right back and make friends.
15) Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
16) Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
Stop when you have had enough.
17) Be loyal! Never pretend to be something
you're not.
18) If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
19)
When someone is having a bad day, be silent,
sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
20) Never stop loving your family and friends.
Life's just too short and your faithful dog knows it!!!
